For over a decade, the Dayton Hudson Foundation has
continued to funnel thousands of dollars annually into the coffers of Planned
Parenthood of Minnesota-Saint Paul.
The company-sponsored foundation owns Target Stores, Dayton's and Mervyn's department stores. According to reports published by The Foundation Center, the Dayton Hudson Foundation for years has authorized donations of at least $18,000 annually to the Planned Parenthood affiliate local to the company's national headquarters. Dayton Hudson also gave at least $10,000 in 1996 to District 202, Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered Youth. The grant was earmarked specifically "for expansion of facilities to serve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered youth." Financial reports Jan. 31, 1997 showed Dayton Hudson's assets at $29 million, of which Dayton Hudson gave $6,380,063 in grants. |
